Chapter Freedom September Program

September was a week of feedback, friendship, inspiration and creation. Evenings were filled with community encounters, film and music performances. During an intense and well-filled week, participants integrated the feedback from the transdisciplinary team with the experiences and encounters of the week to develop the first Chapter of our Library of the Future.

Community Building

To thank the community that hosted them in September, the participants invited the different partners and  neighbourhood organisations for a self-made dinner. They received an introduction of the local community and neighbourhood activities in return. With special thanks to vzw De ReganbOog, DeBol, wijkwerking Landotte and Chiro Zwartberg, who were so kind to offer their premisses as a camp, cook and living location for a week in September.

Music performance

The week closed out with LUCY, an exclusive performance of DEZ Mona & B.O.X. Combining new lyrics, new music, layered images, tactile materials and enchanting voices, Dez Mona and B.O.X search for the meaning of coming home and belonging in a fragmented world. Dez Mona & B.O.X. are: Gregory Frateur (vocals), Pieter Theuns (theorbo), Roel Van Camp (accordion), Jutta Troch (baroque harp), Sjoerd Bruil (guitar), Berlinde Deman (serpent), Kristof Roseeuw (double bass), Charlotte Schoeters (soprano) and Michaela Riener (soprano)

Award ceremony

In recognition for their work, Koen Vanmechelen created a unique award for all participants. A transparent egg engraved with an unthinkable date holds the potential of the future. Everything is possible.

The award was made possible with the support of the MOUTH Foundation.
