Musti Önlen

Musti Önlen is the founder and chairman of the non-profit organization Homie. Homie is a citizens initiative that gives shelter and coaching to young homeless adults between 18 and 25 years old in caravans and in households of regular citizens who have a spare room in their own homes. This unique project counters the prejudices towards homeless youngsters and wakes up the solidarity in the society by involving the support of citizens in their needs on different life domains. The mission of Homie is to make sure that no youngster needs to sleep one day on the streets against his/her/x will. That's why Musti is available 24/7, he puts his life with full dedication into his organization and homeless youngsters.

Musti is also appointed by the Flemish government as a client representative for the interests of children who are in the youth care system. As a client representative he works on the formation and policy of the youth care system in the Flemish and Brussels region. Next to that Musti is a board member of 11.11.11, the umbrella organization of the NGO sector in Belgium and several other non-profit organizations like B-Classic, Cachet and Genesis.
