Artist Koen Vanmechelen is featured in Sint-Denijs-City with his 3 meter large artwork ‘Salvator Globe’. A unique art experience via a 4.2 km walking tour along slow roads, with art in the vast landscape and in the seclusion of rural buildings.

Between July 13th and September 24th, the MUSE - Science Museum of Trento organises the exhibition "Anima Mundi - The Carousel of Life" at the Renaissance villa Palazzo delle Albere. Two enchanting carousels by Belgian artist Koen Vanmechelen embody the artist's vision of life and its diversity.

Arts Festival Watou 2023 takes place from July 1 to September 3. Edith Doove is the visual arts curator and, like last year, Michaël Vandebril is in charge of the poetry section. Koen Vanmechelen continues to inspire Patchwwwork, the experimental preliminary project from which several artists are selected for the festival and he is also invited as one of the participating artists. This edition is given the baseline /kom.po'zi.ci.o/. Thirty artists and twenty poets "compose" new in situ work.

On the occasion of their 30th anniversary, art gallery De Mijlpaal is organising the unique participatory project 'Dreaming-Thinking-Doing'. Visitors to De Mijlpaal will link their own Mijlpaal story to a work by one of the 30 artists who participated in various exhibitions and projects in recent years, including Koen Vanmechelen. A peculiar and sometimes emotional expo, always personal and unique.

Sunday, April 23, is Flemish Heritage Day. Following the theme "Beastly," Abdij, Stad en Regio vzw is organizing "Animals in the Trudoabdij x Koen Vanmechelen Welcome to the Wunderkammer" in the Emperors' Hall of Trudoabdij in Sint-Truiden. Vanmechelens' Medusa will be on display here, a hybrid taxidermy sculpture of a reptile and a guinea fowl.

Koen Vanmechelen is invited with his artwork ‘Vesta’ for the exhibition ‘Animal Textile’ in the ‘Musée de la Tapisserie et des Arts Textiles de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles’. The central idea behind the expo is the exploration of the theme of the animal by comparing a selection of ancient and modern tapestries of TAMAT’s collection with contemporary works, such as, VESTA, an immense chicken portrait of the artist.
