The Unthinkable Experiment – Chapter The Future of Education starts Friday, September 30 at 6 p.m. with a lecture by internationally recognized artist Koen Vanmechelen in The Battery, Vanmechelen’s studio at LABIOMISTA. We close off the week-end on Sunday, October 2nd at 5 p.m.
Where?
LABIOMISTA, GENK
We submerge ourselves in LABIOMISTA, Vanmechelen’s evolving work of art on the mix of life in Genk. On Friday, the artist inspires us with an introduction to his work and an exclusive visit to his studio. Saturday and Sunday, we have the opportunity to work from the three large knowledge boxes of LaMouseion, inhabitable artworks integrated in LABIOMISTA’s Protected Paradise, the fertile zone between wilderness and civilization. On our radar: storks, Galloway cattle, and many other bird species that are drawn by the eye-catching, new breeding nests that were raised here.
Library of Collected Knowledge
The aim is to acquire new relevant insights for our common future, about how knowledge can be created, about how science, art and communities can feed and challenge each other, about how generations inspire and complement each other, about how existing systems can be supplemented by new models, about the ideas of the new generations.
Your contributions and ideas will become part of the Library of Collected Knowlegde (L.O.C.K.) at LABIOMISTA and will be documented in a short video that will be published on various channels.
