Library of Collected Knowledge

LaMouseion is a heartfelt invitation to young thinkers to come to LABIOMISTA and ‘think the unthinkable’ in complete freedom. Koen Vanmechelen, the driving force behind the concept, has only one condition: an account of the knowledge acquired should be left on site, as an addition to LABIOMISTA's Library of Collected Knowledge (L.O.C.K); a growing library, open to all.

L.O.C.K.
The L.O.C.K. was launched in 2012 as an interactive multimedia installation. It was first presented at dOCUMENTA (2012) in Germany and at the Havana Biennale (2015). The library unlocks the knowledge that arises from Koen Vanmechelen’s wide-ranging œuvre, and the many projects that it generates. In addition to its archival function, L.O.C.K. also effectively is the chronicle of Vanmechelen's entire body of work. At the same time, it’s also a guide and trailblazer for the future. At LABIOMISTA, you can find L.O.C.K in Villa OpUnDi. A part of L.O.C.K. is also digitally accessible by clicking on the image below.
